Mayor Scott Schertzer is announcing that in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, many City of Marion departments will be closed on Monday, January 18, 2021; however, some departments will be operating on a normal schedule. Following is information regarding office and departmental schedules for Monday, January 18, 2021:
- All offices in Marion City Hall will be closed.
- Sanitation crews will collect garbage and recycling on Monday, January 18. Residents who normally have refuse collected on Monday are requested to have their collections at curbside by 7:00 a.m.
- Buses for Marion Area Transit will not be in operation on Monday, January 18. Bus service will return with normal hours of operation on Tuesday, January 19.
- Marion Senior Center continues to be closed during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic to protect the health and welfare of its members. Contact the Senior Center (740-387-5444) for senior transportation options that are available weekdays from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm. Senior transportation will be available on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday (Monday, January 18).
Essential services including fire, police, and airport will operate as usual.
