The phone numbers shown below are for the railroad companies that operate rail lines withing the City of Marion.  Please contact the appropriate railroad in the event of railroad related emergencies or other general problems associated with railroad operations.  When calling, please have as much information as possible available, such as what the exact problem is, the specific crossing location (including crossing number if possible), date and time that problem occurred, and the number of the locomotive if possible.

 
CSX TRANSPORTATION

CSX owns and operates a portion of the tracks that run through the City of Marion. CSX locomotives are generally dark blue with yellow detailing including the “CSX” lettering on each side of the locomotive.

It should be utilized in the event of CSX railroad emergencies, such as derailments, vehicle-train collisions, vehicles stuck on tracks, blocked crossings, trespassers on railroad property, theft, vandalism, and malfunctioning grade crossing signals and gates.

NORFOLK SOUTHERN RAILROAD
Norfolk Southern Railroad owns and operates a portion of the tracks that run through the City of Marion. Norfolk Southern locomotives include their “NS” logo painted in white on each side with a black stallion embedded in the logo.
