Lincoln Pool
Update - September 2011
The construction of a new aquatic center to replace Lincoln Park Pool is underway. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on September 1, 2011. At this point, the buildings have been demolished and work will continue throughout the winter.
Construction is set to be complete by spring 2012.
The new aquatic center will take up only a little more space than the fenced in area of the former pool. The design will be similar to the plan pictured above.
Money to pay back the bond to build the pool comes from the lease agreement between the City of Marion and Marion General Hospital. No tax money or general fund money will be used for the construction.
