ORDINANCE MAKING APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENTS IN VARIOUS FUNDS FOR THE YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2017

ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH HAZEN AND SAWYER.  FOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE WATER POLLUTION CONTROL CENTER ENHANCE PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF MARION, OHIO, APPROPRIATING NECESSARY FUNDS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

 

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE AUDITOR TO MAKE A CASH ADVANCE FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF $20,000 TO THE ADULT DRUG COURT GRANT

City Hall – Council Chambers on December 11, 2017, 7:30 PM

Mayor Scott Schertzer is announcing the following closings and adjusted hours for City Offices over the Christmas and New Year’s holiday weeks.   

  • All departments in City Hall will be closed on Monday, December 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday.  Offices will also be closed on Monday, January 1 in observance of the New Year’s holiday. 
     
  • Sanitation collection will not take place on December 25 or January 1.  Residents with Monday sanitation service are asked to have their collections at curbside by 7:00 am on Tuesday, December 26 and Tuesday, January 2.  Crews will collect both Monday and Tuesday’s refuse on each Tuesday.  Sanitation crews will also begin collecting live Christmas trees on Tuesday, December 26 and continue tree collection through the month of January.  Live Christmas trees should be placed at curbside on the resident’s trash collection day.  All lights and decorations must be removed from the tree and the tree should NOT be wrapped in plastic.
     
  • Buses for Marion Area Transit will not be in operation on Monday, December 25 or Monday, January 1.
     
  • Marion Senior Center will be closed, resulting in programs, activities, and transportation not being available on December 25, December 26, and January 1.

Necessary services including police and fire will operate as usual.

RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE RE-APPOINTMENT, BY THE MAYOR, OF MICHAEL NICOLOSI TO SERVE AS A MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE MARION PORT AUTHORITY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

          WHEREAS, Mayor Scott Schertzer has asked Council for its approval of the re-appointment of Michael J. Nicolosi to the Board of Directors for the Marion Port Authority to fill a term, with said term ending December 31, 2021.

BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Marion, Marion County, Ohio:

RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT, BY THE MAYOR, OF MICHAEL THOMAS, TO SERVE AS A MEMBER OF THE MARION COUNTY GENERAL HEALTH DISTRICT

          ORDINANCE ACCEPTING, RATIFYING AND APPROVING

          THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN

          THE CITY AND FOP, OLC AS TO THE GOLD UNIT AND

RATIFYING AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, an Agreement with Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio Labor Council, Inc., for the Gold Unit has been reached on behalf of said FOP and the City of Marion and ratified by the Bargaining Units.
