2016-73 1 additional transit bus in auction

ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SERVICE DIRECTOR TO DISPOSE OF 1 BUS PREVIOUSLY UTILIZED BY THE TRANSIT DEPARTMENT AND DECLARING THEY ARE NO LONGER NECESSARY FOR ANY PUBLIC PURPOSE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the Council has been advised that vehicles previously used by the Transit Department listed are no longer necessary, and

WHEREAS, this bus was inadvertently left off the list of auction vehicles, the bus stated below was sold on October 1, 2016 at the City’s Auction, and

BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Marion, Marion County, Ohio;

          Section 1.     That the Service Director is hereby authorized and directed to dispose of the following 1 bus previously used by the Transit Department listed below and have been determined to have exceeded their useful purpose and are no longer necessary for any municipal purpose:

Section 2.     That the disposal authorized herein shall be in compliance with the mandates contained within the Ohio Revised Code.

Section 3.     That this ordinance is hereby declared an emergency measure for the welfare and Service of the City of Marion and the inhabitants thereof and for the further reason that it is necessary for the daily operation of the City for further reason that the City Auction had occurred on October 1, 2016; and as such, shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor provided it receives the vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council; otherwise it shall become effective from and after the earliest period allowed by law.                                        __________________________
