2016-65 Accepting Capital Grant with ODNR

 

 

ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATION TO ACCEPT A CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT COMMUNITY RECREATION PROJECTS GRANT WITH OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, and declaring an emergency

          WHEREAS, The City of Marion has been offered a Capital Improvement award for a Community Recreation Project in the amount of $50,000, appropriated by the 131st General Assembly through Senate Bill 310 and administered by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Office of Real Estate & Land Management.

          WHEREAS, this Council recognizes the need for renovation and restoration of the ball fields and stadium located in Lincoln Park, that serve the recreational needs of the City of Marion youth.

          BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Marion, Marion, County, Ohio:

          Section 1.     That City Administration accepts the Capital Improvement award for Community Recreation Projects offer.

          Section 2.     That the City Administration is authorized to proceed with Capital Improvement Project(s) with the Lincoln Park, Lincoln Field and Stadium Restoration Project, and other ball fields located at Lincoln Park.

         Section 3.     That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the health, welfare and safety of the City of Marion and the inhabitants thereof, and as such shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor, provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council; otherwise, it shall become effective from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
