2016-56 S&B Diesel/Fuel & Road Paint

ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO PREPARE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR DIESEL/REGULAR FUEL AND ROAD PAINT, APPROPRIATE THE NECESSARY FUNDS AND TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, The City of Marion bids bi-annually the necessary purchases of Fuel, Salt and Road Paint to be used in the daily operation of the City, and;

 

WHEREAS, the current contracts are set to expire October 31, 2016.

 

BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Marion, Marion County, Ohio:

 

Section 1.     That the Public Works Director be authorized and is hereby directed to prepare specifications and advertise for bids for diesel/regular fuel and road paint, further the Auditor is authorized to appropriate the necessary funds and the Public Works Director is authorized to enter into contract with the lowest and best bidder as diesel fuel, regular fuel and road paint.

 

Section 2.     That the cost of such contracts shall be payable from the Fuel – Central Garage Fuel Fund 601.6000.5503; and the Paint from the Streets Fund – 202.2006.5502.

 

Section 3.     That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the welfare of the City of Marion and the inhabitants thereof and for further reason that the expiration date on the current contracts is October 31, 2016, and such, shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council; otherwise it shall become effective from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
