ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 1969-29, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE YARGER REPORT BY CREATING A NEW POSITION IDENTIFIED AS A MOTOR EQUIPMENT OPERATOR III IN THE WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT, ESTABLISHING SALARY AND BENEFITS FOR SAID POSITION AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the Council finds it necessary create a position to be known as A Motor Equipment Operator III within the Waste Water Treatment Plant, which shall be funded by the Enterprise Funds, with responsibilities as set forth in the Job Description attached hereto (Exhibit A) and made a part hereof.

 

BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Marion, Marion County, Ohio:

 

Section 1.     The Council finds it necessary to create within the City’s Job Classification Plan, also referred to as the Yarger Report, the Position of Director of Public Works, with duties as set forth in the attached Job Description which is made a part hereof.

 

Section 2.     That said position is non-exempt AFSCME and assigned pay grades and salary ranges.

          Section 4.     That the job description for said position is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference and shall be reference become a part of the personnel classification schedule heretofore adopted by this Council as fully as if the same were rewritten in said personnel classification schedule.

 

          Section 5.     This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the welfare of the City of Marion and its inhabitants thereof; due to the need to act in concert with the dissolution of the Recreation Department and to immediately establish the necessary administrative structure to enable the WWTP to run efficiently; and as such shall take effect and be in force upon passage and approval by the Mayor provided it receives the affirmative vote of the two-thirds of all members elected to Council; otherwise, it shall come effective from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
