ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SERVICE DIRECTOR TO PREPARE SPECIFICATION AND ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF UP TO FOUR (4) REAR-LOADING REFUSE TRUCK BODIES FOR USE IN THE SANITATION DEPARTMENT AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

 

WHEREAS, the Sanitation Department is in dire need of rear-loading refuse truck bodies due to the repeated breakdowns and costs of repairs.

 

 

 

          BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Marion, Ohio; Marion County, Ohio;

 

 

 

Section 1.  That the Service Director is hereby authorized to prepare specifications and advertise for bids for the purchase of up to four (4) rear-loading refuse truck bodies.

 

 

 

Section 2.  That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the welfare of the City of Marion and its inhabitants thereof, due to the real and present need to move forward without delay given the failing condition of the current packers that will be replaced and as such shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor, provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, otherwise it shall become effective from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
