The City of Marion is announcing information related to its 2013 yard waste program.  The 2013 program will essentially follow a once per month collection pattern, although some additional support may be available during April and May.  Following is a list the weeks in which yard waste is tentatively scheduled

The City of Marion Parks Department and the Ohio Department of Agriculture will be hosting a Gypsy Moth Open House on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Marion Recreation Center, 240 W. Church St., to discuss the aerial treatments planned for spring.

Senior Center Offers Tuesday Evening Hours During the Month of February

Due to popular demand, the Marion Senior Center will continue to offer extended hours on Tuesday evenings until 8:00 pm.  At this time, this is the only evening that extended hours are being offered.  Programs during this special timeframe will continue to target the Baby Boomer generation (individuals born between 1946-1964), but anyone age 50+ is welcome to join in the fun!

Mayor Scott Schertzer is announcing that on Tuesday, September 4th at 6:00 p.m. detours will begin being posted in downtown Marion to accommodate activities for the 2012 Marion Popcorn Festival.   Streets will remain closed until the festival’s conclusion at midnight on Saturday and may remain closed

Mayor Scott Schertzer is announcing the following closures for the City of Marion on Monday, September 3rd in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

  • All offices in City Hall will be closed.
  • Sanitation crews will not work on Monday, September 3rd.   Residents who normally have Monday
