Community Clean-Up Day Announced

Mayor Scott Schertzer is announcing that the City of Marion will sponsor a Community Clean-Up Day on Saturday, May 18, 2013.

Any City of Marion resident, currently on City Sanitation Service, wishing to dispose of unwanted items may do so by taking those items directly to the Marion County Solid Waste Transfer Station located at 1564 Victory Road, (directly east of the Marion Correctional Institute).

Announcement of Yard Waste Program for 2013

The City of Marion is announcing information related to its 2013 yard waste program.  The 2013 program will essentially follow a once per month collection pattern, although some additional support may be available during April and May.  Following is a list the weeks in which yard waste is tentatively scheduled

Good Friday Holiday Closures Announced

In observance of the Good Friday holiday, offices located in City Hall will be closed on Friday, March 29, 2013.  Due to City Hall being closed on Friday, the weekly early closure day will be observed on Thursday, March 28, 2013.  Therefore, most offices in City Hall will close at 3:00 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2013,

Departmental Closures for Presidents Day Announced

Mayor Schertzer is announcing that in observance of the President’s Day holiday, offices in City Hall will be closed on Monday, February 18th.   Additional departments will be closed or operating as noted below:

Gypsy Moth Open House Hosted by Marion City Parks Department and Ohio Department of Agriculture

The City of Marion Parks Department and the Ohio Department of Agriculture will be hosting a Gypsy Moth Open House on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Marion Recreation Center, 240 W. Church St., to discuss the aerial treatments planned for spring.

Boomer Night at Marion Senior Center continues in February

Senior Center Offers Tuesday Evening Hours During the Month of February

Due to popular demand, the Marion Senior Center will continue to offer extended hours on Tuesday evenings until 8:00 pm.  At this time, this is the only evening that extended hours are being offered.  Programs during this special timeframe will continue to target the Baby Boomer generation (individuals born between 1946-1964), but anyone age 50+ is welcome to join in the fun!

Closures for Holiday Announced

Mayor Scott Schertzer is announcing that offices in City Hall will be closed on Thursday, November 22nd and Friday, November 23rd for the Thanksgiving holiday. 

PLEASE NOTE:  As a result of City Hall offices being closed on Friday, the weekly early closure day will be observed on Wednesday, November 21st.  Therefore, City offices will close at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21st, with the exception of the Municipal Court Office, which will close at 12:00 p.m.
