ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE NECESSARY APPROPRIATION AND DIRECTING THE SERVICE DIRECTOR ENTER INTO CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF A 2014 VACALL AJV 610 SEWER CLEANING TRUCK FROM GRADALL INDUSTRIES INC. THE MACHINE WILL BE UTILIZED BY THE WATER POLLUTION DIVISION, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, Council finds that there are additional funds needed for the purchase of a sewer cleaning truck.
WHEREAS, Gradall submitted the lowest and best bid for the purchase of a Sewer Cleaning Truck for use in the WPC Division with a cost of $311,176.32, and therefore
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Marion, Marion County,
Section 1. That the Service Director is hereby authorized and is hereby directed to enter into contract with Gradall to purchase a Sewer Cleaning Truck for the use in the WPC Division. The cost is $311,176.32 funded from the Sanitary Sewer Fund (502.5002.5304).
That there be an additional appropriation made in the Sanitary Sewer Capital Equipment Replacement Fund (502.5002.5304) in the amount of $310,000.00.
Section 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared an emergency measure for the welfare and safety of the City of Marion and the inhabitants thereof and for the further reason that it is necessary for the daily operation of the city; due to need to act immediately given the opportunity that presents itself and is necessary to put the vehicle in use as soon as possible, and as such, shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor, provided it received the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to council; otherwise, it shall become effective from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
