ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SERVICE DIRECTOR TO APPLY FOR FAA FY 2013 GRANT FUNDS, ADVERTISE FOR BIDS AND ENTER INTO CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION ON FAA GRANT AIP 3-39-0050-2113 AT THE MARION MUNICIPAL AIRPORT
WHEREAS, The City of Marion has been tentatively allocated $ 300,000.00 FAA Grant AIP 3-39-0050-2113, known as Project #21,
WHEREAS, 90% or $300,000.00 grant funds are available through Federal Aviation Administration and 10% or $33,000.00 available through City of Marion and the City Council supports the application for any such grant funds. Total cost for Project # 21 is $333,000.00
WHEREAS, The grant application and final grant award is offered as a result of these bids.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Marion, Marion, County, Ohio:
Section 1. That the Service Director is hereby authorized and directed to advertise for bids for Reconstruction Storm Drainage System Phase 1 and Rehabilitate Runway 7/25 Phase 1 at the Marion Municipal Airport. In the event the bids received are less than the total estimate of the consultant and the funds are available, the Service Director is hereby authorized to enter into contract with the lowest and best bidder.
Section 2. That the Service Director is hereby authorized to apply for FAA FY 2013, Project #21 Grant.
Section 3. The specifications were prepared by GA Consultants of Maumee, Ohio, who was selected per FAA guidelines and authorized by Ordinance 2009- 64.
Section 4. That it is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the adoption of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all deliberations of this Council, and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
