ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE NECESSARY APPROPRIATION AND DIRECTING THE SAFETY DIRECTOR ENTER INTO CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) CONVERSION PACKAGES FOR THE 2012 FORD CONNECT VEHICLES THAT WILL BE UTILIZED BY THE MARION SENIOR CENTER, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance 2010-09, The City of Marion purchased two (2) Ford Connect Vehicles for the Marion Senior Center knowing that they would need additional and necessary equipment/conversion packages, and

WHEREAS, the Safety Director determined that the company Auto Options has tendered the best offer to supply the necessary items and is best qualified to do the conversion work for a total amount of $4,097.60.

BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Marion, Marion County,
Ohio;

Section 1. Given the report of the Safety Director and the information provide related hereto, Council determines Auto Options be declared the best qualified company to do the conversion work on the two vehicles. Therefore, the Safety Director is hereby authorized to enter into contract with said company for the provision and installation of the conversion packages, summarized as follows:

Vinyl Interior - $849.00
Black Vinyl Flooring - $399.00
Pick up/delivery fee - $60.00
Shop Supplies - $130.80
Grab Handle Installations ($75 each x 4 per vehicle) - $300
Graphics – (Senior Center name and phone number) - $200
Sub Total (per vehicle) - $1938.80 x 2 vehicles = 3877.60
Emergency Kits @ $110/each = 220.00
TOTAL AMOUNT FOR BOTH VEHICLES: $4,097.60

That there be an appropriation made in the Senior Center III B Fund, Capital Equipment (201.2001.5304) in the amount of $4,100.

Section 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared an emergency measure for the welfare and safety of the City of Marion and the inhabitants thereof and for the further reason that it is necessary for the daily operation of the city; due to need to act immediately given the opportunity that presents itself and is necessary to put the vehicles in use as soon as possible, and as such, shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor, provided it received the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to council; otherwise, it shall become effective from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
