ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SAFETY DIRECTOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH MATHEWS AUTO GROUP TO PURCHASE TWO (2) 2012 FORD TRANSIT WAGONS TO BE USED AT THE SENIOR CENTER, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance 2012-09, the Safety Director was authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of two Ford Transit Wagons to be used at the Senior Center, and

WHEREAS Mathews Auto Group submitted the lowest and best bid of $22,095.18 per unit totaling 44,190.36.

BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Marion, Marion County, Ohio

Section 1. That the Safety Director be, and he is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Mathews Auto Group for the purchase of two (2) Ford Transit Wagons for the Senior Center at a total cost of 44,190.36 payable out of the Senior Transportation Levy Fund.

Section 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of health, welfare and safety of the City of Marion and the inhabitants thereof and for the further reason it is necessary for the daily operation of said City, and the pricing expirations related thereto; and shall take effect and be in force immediately upon it’s passage and approval by the Mayor, provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council; otherwise, it shall become effective from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
