ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SERVICE DIRECTOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH MATHEWS KENNEDY FORD FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO UTILITY TRUCKS FOR THE WPC DIVISION AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, this Council by passage of Ordinance No. 1991-136, requires approval of all capital expenditures exceeding $2,500.00 except for expenditures necessary for the health and safety of the citizens of the City of Marion, Ohio.

WHEREAS, Mathews Kennedy Ford submitted the best bid for the purchase of two (2) utility trucks for use in the WPC Division with a cost of $73,884.60, and therefore

BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Marion, Ohio: Marion County,

Section 1. That the Service Director is hereby authorized and is hereby directed to enter into contract with Mathews Kennedy Ford to purchase two (2) Utility Trucks for the use in the WPC Division. The cost is $73,884.60 funded from the Storm Water Utility Fund (504.5007.5304) and the Sanitary Sewer Dept. (502.5002.5304).

Section 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the welfare and safety of the City of Marion and the inhabitants thereof, also to purchase the vehicles in order to meet build-out dates, and for the further reason that is necessary for the daily operation of the City; and as such, shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council; otherwise, it shall become effective from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
