ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SAFETY DIRECTOR TO TAKE ALL STEPS NECESSARY TO CONDUCT AN R.F.P. PROCESS COMPLIANT WITH O.R.C. MANDATES RELATED TO SPEC AND BID FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE BILLING, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, previous Council enabled the EMS billing program and authorized contracting for EMS Billing Services, the current contract is set to expire June 30, 2011, and
WHEREAS, the Administration will be conducting an RFP process to find the best firm possible to provide professional services to the City associated with the aforementioned program, and
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Marion, Ohio: Marion County,
Section 1. The Director of Public Safety is authorized to prepare a Request for Proposal (RFP) for EMS billing services compliant with Ohio law related to spec and bid processes and therefore the Council determines it is necessary to authorize the Safety Director, his designees to complete all necessary steps, agreements, processes, including, but not limited to compilation of an RFP and related documents, processes and items related to the Emergency Medical Service Billing program and report same back to Council.
Section 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, welfare and safety of the City of Marion and the inhabitants thereof, and due to Due to the real and present need to move forward without delay given the expiration date to renew is June 30, 2011, and as such, shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor, provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council; otherwise it shall become effective from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
