Senior Center News

Please join us for our annual Easter Dinner on Thursday, March 24th  at Noon.  We will be serving a traditional menu of carved ham, cheesy potatoes, green beans, dinner roll and butter, dessert and a beverage. Dinner will be prepared and catered by the culinary staff of Kingston Residence of Marion. After dinner, you’ll enjoy listening to the beautiful harmony of our very own choir, “Seniors in Song”, directed by Ednita Vaflor. Tickets are $8.00 for members/$10.00 for Non-members and can be purchased at the Transportation Desk through Friday, March 18th.

Our next Bingo Brunch will be held on Wednesday, March 16th at 11:30 am. This month’s meal of Chicken Tetrazzini, Peas, and a Cookie is being provided by DeWolfe Place. Tickets will be available for $4.00 at the Transportation Desk until Friday, March 11th. After brunch you'll enjoy a fun afternoon of Bingo beginning at 12:30pm.

Join us on Monday, March 14th for fun and frolic as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The event will begin with an Irish-themed lunch, served at 11:30 am. Lunch will feature a festive Soup, Sandwich and Dessert. Members are encouraged to dress in your favorite green apparel! We’ll also enjoy a unique musical performance after lunch, as Grant Middle School’s student cast of Lion King, Jr. will perform under the direction of Anne Schertzer.

The Marion Senior Center has a personal shopper available to help homebound Seniors age 60+. If you, or someone you know, could use ongoing assistance with shopping needs, please contact Social Services Coordinator Annette Hartman at (740) 387-6100.


If you, or someone you know age 60 and older, are seeking transportation for needs-based appointments, the Marion Senior Center is here to help. We provide transportation (on a donation basis) to and from appointments in Marion County. Transportation is available every Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am & 3:30 pm, excluding holidays. An amazing group of talented musicians and vocalists perform at the Center from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. on the last Wednesday of each month.  Lunch is available at a cost of $3.50 and is served at noon. Thank you to all the musicians and those who prepare a wonderful lunch! This event is open to the public.
